Ralf P Thomas (Prof. Dr. rer. pol.) has been Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG since 2013. In addition to being responsible for Siemens Healthineers within the Siemens AG Managing Board, he is responsible there for Controlling and Finance, including Investor Relations, as well as for Siemens Financial Services, Siemens Real Estate, the Portfolio Companies and Siemens South Africa.
After studying economics and business administration and completing a doctorate in income tax accounting, Ralf Thomas began his career at Siemens AG in 1995. Since then, he has served as Head of Accounting, Controlling and Treasury at Siemens Ltd., South Africa; Performance Controller at Siemens Medical Solutions; CFO of the Siemens Angiography, Fluoroscopic and Radiographic Systems Division; Head of Corporate Finance Accounting, Controlling, Reporting & Taxes at Siemens AG; and CFO of the former lndustry Sector at Siemens AG.
In 2018, Ralf Thomas was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Healthineers AG, where he also chaired the audit committee. Since December 2019, he has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board there.
From September 2020 to February 2024, Ralf Thomas was also a member of the Supervisory Board of Siemens Energy AG. Until December 2021, he also chaired the Audit Committee of Siemens Energy AG.
Since January 2024, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Allianz Versicherungs-AG.
Ralf Thomas is also Chairman of the Stock Exchange Committee of Experts (Börsensachverständigenkommission) at Germany’s Federal Ministry of Finance. He serves as Treasurer and as a member of the Executive Committee at the Max Planck Society (MPG) and is a member of the Chairman’s Committee and of the Executive Committee of the Deutsches Aktieninstitut (DAI). From 2011 to 2020, he was Chairman of the Accounting Standards Committee of Germany (ASCG). He was appointed Honorary Professor for Business Administration at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg in 2018.
