Michael Kotzbauer joined Commerzbank AG in 1990 and has held numerous management positions over the course of his career at the Bank.
As of 1 October 2024, Michael was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors. He also has responsibility for the Corporate Clients business segment, a role he was appointed to in January 2021. During his time at Commerzbank, Michael has acquired a deep understanding of our clients’ needs, gained through leadership roles in Commerzbank’s Mittelstandbank, including Divisional Board Member for Central & Eastern regions.
Before that, he held the position of Divisional Board Member responsible for the capital market-oriented business with large corporates in Southern and Eastern Germany until 2015. From 2010 to 2013, he was based in Shanghai as Regional Board Member for the Corporate Clients business in Asia.
Michael Kotzbauer began his career at Commerzbank in Frankfurt am Main with an apprenticeship, followed by a trainee programme. In parallel to this, he studied business administration at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
